報(bào)告摘要： A brief recount of the development history of automatic control is presented from a personal perspective of the speaker. Topics covered include classical ones, such as: Maxwell’s analysis of governor stability, state space representation, Kalman filter as well as personal favorites such as realization theory, nonlinear filtering and developments in networked control.

報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介：Wong Wing Shing（黃永成），香港中文大學(xué)教授（榮休），國(guó)際電氣電子工程師學(xué)會(huì)終身會(huì)士（Life Fellow, IEEE），香港工程師學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士（FHKIE），香港工程科學(xué)院院士（FHKIE）。研究領(lǐng)域包括無(wú)線(xiàn)通信、網(wǎng)絡(luò)編碼、網(wǎng)絡(luò)化控制等。他獲得耶魯大學(xué)學(xué)士碩士雙學(xué)位，哈佛大學(xué)博士學(xué)位。1982年加入AT&T貝爾實(shí)驗(yàn)室工作并晉升為管理主任，后加入香港中文大學(xué)，歷任該校信息工程系主任、研究生院院長(zhǎng)、善衡書(shū)院院長(zhǎng)等職務(wù)。他曾借調(diào)到香港特別行政區(qū)創(chuàng)新科技署出任科學(xué)顧問(wèn)，擔(dān)任香港應(yīng)用科技研究院董事局董事和科技委員會(huì)主席。曾任IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control副主編，創(chuàng)辦國(guó)際期刊Communications in Information and Systems并任聯(lián)合主編，是中國(guó)自動(dòng)化學(xué)會(huì)第七屆理事會(huì)理事，東南大學(xué)客座教授，東北大學(xué)秦皇島兼職教授，第48屆IEEE CDC暨第28屆中國(guó)控制會(huì)議的大會(huì)報(bào)告人之一。
